About Cat Zones

Cat Zones is a small, independent browser game. It uses a classic logic puzzle format: one piece in every row, column and region, with no two pieces touching. Puzzle fans know it as one-star Star Battle. We gave it cats, a daily board and a leaderboard.

How are the boards made?

Every board is generated by our own code: it places the cats, grows the colored zones around them, and then runs a solver that checks every possible placement. Boards with more than one answer are changed until exactly one answer is left, so every puzzle can be solved by logic alone.

Who is behind it?

Cat Zones comes from the makers of New Game Guides. The game, its artwork and its text are our own. We are not affiliated with any app or company that publishes puzzles with similar rules.
